Biorevitalization
The main elements that characterize an "aged" looking skin (aging face) are represented first of all by dehydration and the loss and redistribution of volumes, but also by the reduction of elasticity, the decrease in collagen, alterations in texture and thickness of the skin, all elements in which the oxidative stress to which our tissues and organs are subjected plays a negative role. The use of biorevitalization, through the intradermal application of substances such as vitamins (A, C, E), hyaluronic acid (moisturizing) and amino acids (collagen constituents) allows you to regenerate the dermis in depth, ensuring nourishment and support for the skin. Small injections under the skin allow you to overcome the epidermal layer that many creams cannot penetrate, giving the skin youth, tone, light and softness using only products already present in our body. Applications can be done all over the body, but treating the face, neck, décolleté and hands is particularly beneficial. They are often known incorrectly as “dots” or “vitamins”. It is one of the most widespread treatments in aesthetic medicine and is based on the use of a restructuring complex made up of hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids whose purpose is to regenerate and support the dermis in order to make the skin more toned, improving its texture and hydration.
Frequent questions
The main base of every biorevitalizer is hyaluronic acid which, however, is different from that of fillers. In fact, in fillers the hyaluronic acid molecules are joined together (cross-linked) to allow a volumetric effect and reduce reabsorption times. In biorevitalizers, hyaluronic acid is "lighter" and allows for a highly hydrating effect. Multivitamin and amino acid complexes are added to hyaluronic acid which reduce oxidative stress and increase endogenous collagen production.
Usually 3-4 sessions are performed close together, 7-15 days apart in order to guarantee a sufficient supply of biorevitalizing substances to the skin. Usually the first effects are visible after the second treatment.
It is recommended to repeat, after the initial treatment of 3-4 sessions close together, a treatment every 30-60 days.
Biorevitalization allows you to give tone to the skin, improve its texture, reduce fine wrinkles, provide a high degree of hydration, restore elasticity, correct oxidative damage from skin aging.
Depending on individual characteristics, it is possible that after a treatment with botulinum toxin, as with all injection treatments, bruising (ecchymosis), redness (erythema) and swelling (edema) may remain in the treated areas for a few days. These are normal phenomena and should not cause concern. During the procedure some small blood vessels may be damaged and induce a minimal local inflammatory reaction which resolves spontaneously, without the need to use further measures.
Filler
As time passes, the face undergoes a series of anatomical alterations such as loss of tissue elasticity, reduction of hydration and reduction of volumes such as to constitute a condition called aging. The phenomena of aging are complex, but medicine allows us to restore at least in part some functional characteristics of the skin and subcutaneous tissue that are lost with advancing age. Through the use of hyaluronic acid fillers it is possible to restore tissue volume where it is needed and increase the degree of hydration using a molecule already present in our body and completely reabsorbable and biocompatible. The naturalness of the result is guaranteed by the skill and experience of the operator who will be able to customize the technique used in order to restore elegant and harmonious proportions and anatomical relationships. The filling of the nasal and genial folds, the increase in the volume of the lips, the correction of small fine wrinkles, the modernization of the profile of the chin and jaw, the increase in the zygomatic volume to support the face are examples of the enormous versatility of fillers all 'hyaluronic acid. To modify or restore the volume of the face with natural and safe results, hyaluronic acid fillers can be used. The term "filler" in English indicates the "filling" effect of this product. Let's try to clarify some doubts regarding this aesthetic medicine procedure.
Frequent questions
Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan, a molecule already present in our body and in particular in our skin. It gives the leather its particular properties of resistance and shape retention. A lack of it causes a weakening of the skin, promoting the formation of wrinkles and blemishes. Its concentration in body tissues tends to decrease with advancing age. In aesthetic medicine it exists in several formulations with different uses and presents itself as a sterile colorless gel composed of several hyaluronic acid molecules joined together (cross-linking); the greater and more stable these bonds between molecules will be, the slower the rate of degradation and reabsorption of the hyaluronic acid filler will be.
Hyaluronic acid is present throughout the body as it represents one of the main components of the connective tissue matrix. In particular, we find it in the skin where hyaluronic acid guarantees the degree of hydration, controls turgidity, and allows the maintenance of shape thanks to its ability to bind water molecules (hydration). Given its viscosity it is an excellent lubricant and for this reason we find it in joint synovial fluid, but also in the vitreous humor of the eyeballs, in tendons, cartilage, etc.
Since it is necessary to go beyond the skin barrier to place hyaluronic acid in the areas where it is needed, there is inevitably the nuisance of the "sting". It is usually a well-tolerated and short-lasting discomfort, thanks also to the new formulations of hyaluronic acid fillers with local anesthetic which reduce injection discomfort. In specific cases it is possible to use local anesthesia to eliminate the sensation of discomfort.
As fillers, hyaluronic acid fillers are used to modify or restore the volumes of the face. In particular, they are used to fill nose wrinkles (or nose folds), to restore the volume of the cheekbones or give support to the face (lifting effect), to modify or restore the volume of the lips.
To see the final effect of the treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers it takes a few days, necessary for the hyaluronic acid molecules to recall and bind water in the tissues.
The result remains stable for a period of approximately 6 months, although there are products that can last up to 12 months or a little more, but they are often more expensive or have semi-permanent materials inside (e.g. hydroxyapatite).
Botox
Many of the lines and wrinkles of the face are not only due to the reduction in the quality of the skin in terms of elasticity, texture, oxidative damage and hydration, but find their origin in the constant action of the mimic muscles of the face, as for example happens with wrinkles of the face. frontal region. In order to attenuate these signs of aging, the most effective treatment is represented by the injection of botulinum toxin which allows you to reduce muscle function in a gradual and temporary way. This does not mean having a face without expression and paralyzed; the naturalness and personalization of the result according to the patient's needs depend on the skill and expertise of the operator who will be able to choose injection sites and dosages in order to guarantee high-level results. Among the lesser-known but highly useful and effective applications, it is useful to remember the anti-sweating effect of botulinum toxin which allows the treatment of hyperhidrosis of the armpits, amni and feet. To attenuate or eliminate wrinkles in the gabellar region and the periocular region, the treatment of choice is represented by botulinum toxin which, thanks to its action of inhibiting muscle action, is able to solve the problem of expression wrinkles, but not only .
Frequent questions
Botulinum toxin is a protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum which has been approved for use in aesthetic medicine since 2002 for the temporary improvement of expression lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines or wrinkles) and periocular wrinkles (crow's feet).
Botulinum toxin works by inhibiting the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at the neuromuscular plaque level; in this way the muscles can no longer contract and therefore the skin above them relaxes, making expression lines disappear.
The filler is a filler and uses cross-linked hyaluronic acid (many molecules joined together); It therefore serves to restore volume, give tone to the skin and fill wrinkles. Botox uses botulinum toxin to inhibit muscle action and reduce or eliminate expression lines.
The effect of Botox (botulinum toxin) lasts up to approximately 180 days, but the reintegration of the receptors at the muscle level can be more or less rapid depending on individual characteristics not known a priori. In some cases it is possible that some patients develop a sort of resistance or insensitivity to the Botox molecule.
The treatment is performed in the clinic, takes 20-30 minutes. The botulinum toxin is reactivated using sterile physiological solution and subsequently injected into the muscles of expression that you want to weaken or block.
Treatment with botulinum toxin is contraindicated in subjects with proven hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin type A or to any of the excipients of the formulation, in the presence of myasthenia gravis or Eaton Lambert syndrome; Particular attention is also necessary in patients with lateral amyotrophic sclerosis or peripheral neuromuscular disorders. Theoretically it can cause interactions if the subject takes aminoglycoside antibiotics or spectinomycin or other medicines that interfere with neuromuscular transmission. Furthermore, administration to pregnant or breastfeeding subjects is not recommended.
